What is The Legacy Kids Club?

The Legacy Kids Club is an 8-month youth development program (typically from September-April) designed to 1) increase the senses of connection, capability, and autonomy among children and 2) support the knowledge and skill development of parents. The program serves families with children between the ages of 6 and 12 (1st grade through 6th grade). Children participate in weekly small-group classes (approx. 4 children) and parents have access to as-needed coaching and additional resources. You can find the full Legacy Kids information page for parents HERE. Your title and role in the program would be "Parenting and Child Development Coach".

What is a Parenting and Child Development Coach?

The Parenting and Child Development Coach certification is offered through Rising Generation Solutions, LLC. The training toward this certification prepares you to offer two key services. First, our certification process would prepare you to facilitate meaningful small-group classes that support the development of children. Specifically, you would be trained in how to help youth develop the senses of connection, capability, and autonomy. Second, you would be trained in how to conduct 1 on 1 parent coaching. As a coach, you would engage parents in a process of inquiry and personal discovery to build their level of awareness and skill. In the coaching relationship, you would support parents by providing structure, support, and feedback. 

What are the educational requirements and qualifications?

Education / Certification

  • Bachelor's Degree in Family Studies, Child/Human Development, or closely related field.

  • Certified Family Life Educator (CFLE) with at least provisional status (https://www.ncfr.org/cfle-certification)

Experience / Skills

  • At least two years of experience working directly with children

  • Ability to market services and recruit participants

  • Basic computer/smart phone familiarity (e.g. emailing, video conferencing, etc.)

What would be the time commitment?

As a Parenting and Child Development coach with The Legacy Kids Club, you can expect to spend roughly 15 hours per week on your various responsibilities. As part of The Legacy Kids Club, you would deliver the curriculum to six "classes" of children (1st Grade - 6th grade). These classes are each 1 hour in length and the preparation for each class is typically 30 minutes to 1 hour. In a typical week, you would want to make yourself available for up to 6 hours of parent coaching each week. 

What is the income potential?

Income potential is determined by 1) the number of families you recruit to participate in the program and 2) how many children each family signs up to participate. As shown in the chart below, participation in Legacy Kids is $800 for the first child and $650 for any additional children.

For example, if a facilitator of The Legacy Kids Club had each of their classes full (4 students in all 6 classes = 24 kids) where 12 of the children are the only ones registered from their family and the other 12 have siblings in the program, your income would equal $17,400 over the 8 months of the program or $2,175/per month.

Applications for the . The following are the basic steps in the application process:

  1. Submit an application and $25 application fee

  2. Instructions will be provided to for how to submit a video of a parent coaching demonstration and sample class demonstration

  3. Interview: 45 minute - 1 hour meeting with the directors of the program

  4. Acceptance and Onboarding
